What’s Important ~ Keeping It Simple

In these complex times keeping track of Truth is so important and yet keeping that endeavor simple can be difficult ~ which is a huge understatement!  So, in giving it some thought, here’s how I boiled it down for me.  Hopefully, this will be helpful to you in holding onto and keeping what’s True…

My life verse, as the saying goes:

Jesus said… I am the way, the truth, and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.
~ John 14:6

It’s direct and simple and easy to grasp.

Reaching the lost with this Truth needs to be a greater focus and part of my life every day:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
~ John 3:16-17

Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who believes in Me has eternal life. ~ John 6:47

Yet balance is key, too:

One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating.  Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked Him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”

The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” ~ Mark 12:28-31

Now, I can’t do this, by any stretch of the imagination, but our gracious God and Father provides for us in this, too:

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. ~ Galatians 2:20

…for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
~ Philippians 2:10

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not a result of works, so that no one may boast.  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. ~ Ephesians 2:10

And I rest often, and ultimately, in and on this, praise be to God:

…being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ… ~ Phil. 1:6

This list, of course, could go on and on and on, but that’s not keeping it simple.  I hope you’re encouraged and inspired to add your verses or make your own list!

The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,

And give you peace.
~ Numbers 6:24-26
