There is so much wisdom packed into this article. This quote especially challenges my heart today: "Humility tells God, “Whatever it takes to make me useful to your kingdom ~ I’m willing.” We need to allow Him to take whatever measures are necessary to bring about the righteousness that He desires in us." Thanks for bringing out this truth and inspiring me to strive even more for this attitude!

Not "Why me", but "Why not me"! I wish I could have that engraved on the inside of my brain in permanent form! Thanks for a wonderful reminder of what it means to be in genuine submission to the will of God. Thanks again, Jeri, for saying it so beautifully.

I like to hold onto that concept of God's "mysterious" plan. I don't know why but it gives me such peace. I guess because I know that He is good. Thanks for sharing.

Sweet Julie... I just can't get enough of your beautiful, peaceful, true writing! You are a blessing to me, my husband (my baby!) and we learn so much from you. Jesus really talks to us through you. Thanks for making me understand that HE is my life and even my thoughts are HIS thoughts because, like you said, I have the mind of Christ (or it is time I had HIS mind once and for all!). Have a blessed week, dear.

***Now, the Church has decided somehow to try to compromise with the world, and buy into its values. One of Satan’s most effective weapons is to imitate God. He poses as an angel of light, and uses as much of the truth as possible, twisted cunningly, to lure people in without them seeing the hook in the bait. In order to avoid this, it is imperative that we really study and know the scripture so that we can confront him and see through his deceptions. One of the biggest needs in the American Church is the gift of discernment. We have lost the ability to sort out the real from the unreal, and just gullibly swallow everything that looks and sounds good, not seeing the poison that may be hidden in that delightful looking morsel.***
Wow, Barbara ~ you really hit the nail on the head with this one! We are living in critical times - most of us living in the lap of luxury and the bliss of ignorance while all around the world, our Brothers and Sisters in Christ are bearing the cross of Christ in a way that we can only imagine. Lord, forgive us and help us!

Barbara, thank you so much for sharing this. It's a hard subject to think about, but such an important one...this was a much needed reminder to pray for the church and to make sure my own heart is prepared for difficult circumstances. In the light of what you've spoken about here, it is easy to see what isn't all that important in my own life and the truths of Christ that should hold priority over all other things. Thank you, again, for words that are perspective-changing.
