A dear friend of mine has a saying, one that grabs me deep and shakes me up a bit. It is just a simple little saying, but for my simple mind and heart, its truth and the honest sincerity with which she says it, is downright revolutionary. It isn’t really just a “saying,” it is more of a way of thinking, living, and responding. I guess, for lack of a better word, it is like a “mantra,” or a truism that permeates all that she does and thinks. It rolls off her tongue wholly confident without a stutter, fear, or embarrassment, but instead with joy, praise, and a sweet grin.
Whenever God’s goodness is recognized in her life, no matter how big or small, this woman of faith says, “I know! I am His favorite!” just as plain as fact, with complete conviction. “I am His favorite…” Does that get to you like it does to me? Don’t you just want to feel that, know that, and believe it for yourself and His love for you? I do, I do,
I DO! It is my hope and intention that you and I begin to live out of this realization, too.
Oh, how He wants you to know Him that way ~ completely confident of His presence, interest, and involvement in your life. Even though, “I’m His favorite,” sounds exclusive,
our God is infinite, so it DOES apply to all of His children. Sister, there is no need to feel so lonely, unloved, insecure, abandoned, or misunderstood. The God of heaven and earth, Creator of all things, loves you completely, fully, ferociously, but gently. You are His favored one; you are His prize, the inheritance and bride He offers His own Son. YOU!
You are so precious to Him! He knows the number of hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30), even the goofy ones that don’t go the direction you intend. He knows what blesses you; He knows the deepest hidden pain, and He rejoices in your giggle and grieves your hurt. The Word tells us that He redeems your life and crowns you with love and compassion! (Psalm 103:4) He holds your heart in His hands and it is His greatest treasure. Yes, it is true. Yours, beloved, is His favorite.
So, Sis, look at yourself today and in the days to come, as nothing other than the Daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Psalm 5:12 says, “For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.” Determine to believe that the God of the universe loves you completely, and when doubt creeps in, ask Him to help you in your unbelief. (Mark 9:24) Your God, Who delights in every detail of you, Who holds a future and hope for you (Jeremiah 29:11), Who will provide for all your needs (Philippians 4:19), longs for you to know without a doubt that You ARE His favorite!
Ephesians 3: 16-19 I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge ~ that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Zephaniah 3:17 The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.
Psalm 139:1-6 You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.”
