A Great Privilege & A Rich Blessing ~ Thank you!!!

Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

This month I completed my seventh year as the editor of Christian Women Online ~ how time flies!  Seven years sounds like a long time, but it doesn’t feel like it’s been a long time at all!  As this title says, it’s truly been a great privilege and a rich blessing to serve here at CWO for this time and I look forward to continuing in this as long as the Lord allows and maintains this site!  

CWO began as an on-line magazine in 2006 by Darlene Schacht.  In 2009 she said farewell to CWO to better minister to her family, and when I came to CWO in 2011 the site had come into its current format.  The premise of CWO then and now is this: CWO exists to to unite and encourage women of faith.  Our mission: to unite women of faith, regardless of our differing ages, our roles as women, or the signs that mark our church doors.  We believe that one of the best ways to do this is to encourage each other in faith, by our spoken and written words.  It is our hope that as we unite women in Christ, the young will glean wisdom from the old, one will gain strength from another, and together we’ll shed light to the world…

…for “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed?  How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?  And how will they hear without a preacher?  How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written,
“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”

…So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

Along with this premise and mission statement, I’ve added a focus on “getting out the Word of God”, which came from the ministry focus of my church over the last few years, and simply means it’s of paramount importance to share the Word of God with others.  CWO stands on the inerrancy and importance of the Scriptures:

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. ~ 2 Timothy 3:16-17

But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” ~ Luke 4:4
