A Leader We Can Trust

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen… By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
~ Hebrews 11:1, 3

It takes faith to trust, ultimately, and these days there is so very little we see which is trustworthy that faith ~ and hence trusting ~ are more challenging than ever!  Yet faith, trust, and believing are the very things we’re called to as the children of God:

As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up; so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life.  For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. ~ John 3:14-17

I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. ~ John 12:46

To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins. ~ Acts 10:43

As it is written:
“Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and rock of offense,
And whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
~ Romans 9:33

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.”
~ Romans 10:11

Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and whoever loves the Father loves the child born of Him. ~ 1 John 5:1

Yet we can go forward in our walk with God, in our daily lives, solidly, surely, and with confidence and certainty because we have a Leader we can totally trust!  Even in these dark, strange times, even in the fog, even in the unknown (which, in reality, is every moment every day since we don’t know the future) we can carry on boldly because we have a loving, Good Shepherd (John 10) Who has Been Here, Done That, and has overcome the world! (John 16:33)  He knows the way for us because He’s lived it and He is The Way!  And the Truth!  And the Life! (John 14:6)  Apart from Him, we can really, truly, can do nothing ~ no thing! (John 15:5)

Not only does He know the way, He knows our way specifically because He knows us thoroughly, completely, and intimately since He created us! (Psalm 139)  And the mind-blowing thing in this is that even with knowing us inside out and backwards, He still loves us!  He loves us so much more, and so much better, than we love or can love ourselves!

Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. ~ John 15:13

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us… For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
~ Romans 5:8,10

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus… ~ Ephesians 2:4-6

...the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. ~ Galatians 2:20

We have a Leader we can trust because He’s steady and faithful!!!  Reliability, dependability ~ steadfastness to use an old word ~ are so lacking in the tabloid of life before our eyes now that it’s almost become rare!  Not so with the One Who has called us to Him and leads us out. (John 10:3)

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. ~ Hebrews 13:8

Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments… ~ Deuteronomy 7:9

The Rock! His work is perfect,
For all His ways are just;
A God of faithfulness
and without injustice,
Righteous and upright is He.
~ Deut. 32:4

Lord God of hosts,
Who is like You,
O mighty Lord?
Your faithfulness
also surrounds You.
~ Psalm 89:8

God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. ~ 1 Corinthians 1:9

We have a Leader we can trust!
What is He leading you out to and through for the sake of the lost, whom He’s longing to reach with His love?  Follow Him wherever He leads you ~ He is worthy and trustworthy!

…He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  And when He brings out his own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for they know His voice.
~ John 10:3-4

Have I not commanded you?  Be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. ~ Joshua 1:9
