Revive Me!

Winter Storm SkyBy Sherma-Jacqueline Felix

There’s a clarion call sounding right now.  It’s loud and clear, and it’s calling for a revival that begins first in us. God loves to revive us.  Hosea 6:2 says “After 2 days He will revive us, in the third day He will raise us up and we shall live in His sight.”

That is so exciting to me!  If you study out the scripture in Hosea, the “2 days” refers to the 2,000 years since the resurrection of Jesus.  The “third day” refers to the catching away of the church, when He raises us up to meet Him in the air. (If you don’t believe that’s going to happen, it’s all OK.)

Well, 2000 years have come and gone and it’s time for us to be revived!  My prayer is: Revive me oh Lord!  The dictionary meaning of REVIVE is: To restore to life or consciousness; to activate or set in motion; and to quicken or renew in the mind.

So revival has to do with a renewing of our minds, and our minds are renewed by the Word of God.  When the Holy Spirit within begins to quicken that Word that’s already in us, the revival begins.  You’ll be sitting there praying, and the Holy Spirit will remind you of a scripture, and as you open your mouth and begin to pray it, you are filled with complete peace!

That peace takes you away from whatever you’re facing and takes you to a place where there is no worry or fear.  That’s revival!  As we pray for revival in the church, we acknowledge that the revival starts with us.  When we begin to expect it, the Holy Spirit will make sure that we experience it!  REVIVE US OH LORD!
