Into The Deep

I miss the ocean when I am not standing next to it. I love how small I feel in the immensity of its presence; nothing I feel is too big. Troubles that loom so large in the perimeters of my daily life suddenly seem small compared to the enormity of this expanse. These waves that hold untold depths of life and time and energy and more than I can ever even know ~ this kind of glory can hold me, and all I contain, too.

In the light of what is infinite, in a glimpse of such majesty ~ the momentary and not-yet-understood quiets. Problems do not disappear or shrink, but they become right-sized in my perspective because I see again how strong and sovereign and sure He is ~ the One who holds this sea as it holds me.

Into the deep. Let me go, let my vision shift to see clearly, let my soul magnify what is True and Good and Holy, let my heart find peace in eternal and limitless Living Water.

Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness. ~ Psalm 29:2

So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without His unfolding grace. ~ from 2 Corinthians 4, MSG
