The Wisdom from Above

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on
your own understanding.

In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
~ Proverbs 3:5-6

Your ears shall hear
a word behind you, saying,

“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.
~ Isaiah 30:21

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
    How unsearchable His judgments,
and His paths beyond tracing out!
“Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has been His counselor?”
“Who has ever given to God,
    that God should repay them?”
For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things.
To Him be the glory forever! Amen.
~ Romans 11:33-36

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.  But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
~ James 1:2-5

Who among you is wise and understanding?
Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom…
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.

~ James 3:13,17

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.  For it is written:

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

Where is the wise person?  Where is the teacher of the law?  Where is the philosopher of this age?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.  Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks,
Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God
For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.
~ 1 Corinthians 1:18-25
