These will probably not be the words from the Word you might be expecting as we enter November and the traditional season of giving thanks and feasting. Even though they’re not a typical collection of thanksgiving verses, they are 11 servings of the Bread of Life for us to feast on in this season, each one a full course in and of itself. So read them slowly. Take your time. Get to know them. Maybe come back to this 11 times in the course of your holiday preparations, taking a verse at a time to give yourself a little time to immerse yourself in a bit of the Word. Enjoy each “dish” here in a leisurely way, and allow the Holy Spirit to tune your heart and soul to the Lord as we come to and through this holiday season!
