So often when things are not going according to our plans, we turn to God and ask why: Why have you allowed this, O God? Why are you not answering my prayer, God?
These are good questions sometimes, but maybe they're not the right ones at all.
How can I change my focus to ask these questions instead...
Why, when I know you as my Protector, do I fear?
Why, when you are my Provider, do I try to provide for myself?
Why, when you are in control, do I allow myself to worry?
Why do I doubt and lack faith, when You, my God, my Savior, are the Great I AM?
In my fear and doubt, in my worry and self-sufficiency, I see again my need for you, O God, and fall to my knees in surrender. There, in surrender, in the act of giving up my will for yours...
I find peace.
All the "Why's" fade.
Then my heart rejoices, and I trust in your holy name. Psalm 33:21
In His peace,
