Prayer of Forgiveness

I have been reading the book Brokenness by Nancy Leigh DeMoss and I can't put it down. God sure has a way of coming in and letting you know that you aren't as hot as you thought you were. I have spent the last thirty minutes wondering when I became such a prideful, judgmental person.

I ask forgiveness for every time I have acted self-righteous, for every time I have focused on anothers' failures to make myself look and feel better, for every time I knew I was wrong but maintained that I was right, for every time that I expected praise and should have been thankful that My God forgave me and that everything I do should be for His Glory!, for every time that I have become defensive when I have been criticized instead of taking heed to what people say and trying to take what they say and let it help me grow spiritually, For worrying about what anyone thinks when the only person I should care about what they think of me is God Himself! For blaming others' when I had fault, too. I apologize for becoming bitter and resentful and for holding others to a position that they will never be able to fulfill. I ask forgiveness for every temper tantrum and every unkind word, for not lifting others' up and doing my best in tearing them down, for thinking I know it all when I know nothing and for the grace of God I would still be nothing. I ask for forgiveness for every fault and imperfection in myself that I have sought to cover up so others would think I am Ms. Perfect and above reproach.
Right now I ask God to break me down, because I need it. I am prideful and to dependent on myself. When my eyes should be on Him and nothing else. In Jesus name, Amen

God won't break you down... He builds you up bella! You have a wonderful heart and because you seek the Lord, he's there... Always. Remember he has a plan for you, and he has made you here to witness his victory over evil. He keeps you under his wings and holds your heart. It belongs to him, you are his property and there he continues to mold you. And he continues loving you and keeping you safe. His love is unconditional, just don't judge yourself. He sacrificed himself to save us, take our weight and destroy it. So we wouldn't suffer or be held captive... So don't let shame bring you down but instead! Rise above!!

Know you are being lifted up in prayer and in spirit. Receive and believe bella.
Jesus loves you and the holy blessed spirit is watching over you. Take comfort sister.
