    discouragement dries the bones out.

Pray for me, friends. I am struggling with discouragement! My husband & I run an online devotional for Lent. We're only halfway through Lent and I feel overwhelmed, let down and discouraged. It is a lot of work for nothing in return- which is fine by us! We knew that going into this project and ministry. What I didn't expect was the negative feedback from friends and family- and their lack of support. My husband is a strong man and it doesn't faze him too much. He tells me daily that we do the online devotional because God asked us to, we don't do it for our friends and family. I agree with him completely, but I'm still struggling emotionally with the lack of support. To the point where it is making it difficult for me to write the daily devotionals. At times I find myself apologizing to God- perhaps He asked the wrong person to do the devotional (which is a ridiculous thought, I know. But emotions can carry heavy weight when you're down!).
Keep me in your prayers! I don't want to let anyone down.

    thanks,
    Laura Emily

Dear Laura Emily, You are in my prayers! You are so blessed to have a husband that speaks truth, and looks to who God says that he is, and not who the world says he is! Ask your husband to pray his covering of joy and peace over you - his prayers for you are life giving. I have a dear Sis, Jacquie, who always says that if you know you are serving the Lord if you are being attacked for it . So take heart! 1 Peter 5:6-10 says, "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen."
I know you don't feel much like praising right now, but ask God to give you that measure of grace and peace that will allow words and songs of praise to start forth from your own mouth. I believe you will feel His joy as your strength begin to well back up within you as you are faithful to give thanks in all things and praise His Name! In His love, Jen

Amen!!! God will never give you more than you can handle. He knew exactly what He was doing when He placed it on your heart to write the devotional. When God asks you to do something for Him, He will provide you with all you need to accomplish it. Trust in the Lord and keep praying.. Keep praying and I pray that you feel God's Mighty hand on you as you press forward and write what God has put in your heart.
