    Talking Hello from Arizona!

Let's see if this works now. I tried to do an intro a few minutes ago, but the post was blocked saying I wasn't permitted to post, so let's give it another go!

I'm Peggy Pittman, from Yuma, Arizona; a public charter school teacher of first graders, divorced mom of two grown children with grandkids from my son and his wife, and a son-in-law-on- the-way from my engaged daughter. I see my occupation as a calling to serve my Lord, with the 26 or so children that God gathers each year in my classroom, whatever their ages, whatever grade I'm teaching. My greatest struggle is in staying out of God's way as He touches their lives, while at the same time teaching them all that the world says they need to know to be successful.

The blog I started on this website is my first attempt at something like this, which I was nudged into finding just yesterday after a morning devotional that seemed to be for more than just me. Hopefully some encouraging, heart-provoking things will come of it, and I think if I, once again, get out of the way, God will have some encouraging things to say to us all.

Thank you to those of us who maintain, moderate, and manage this website and make it available for our technologically-connected fellowship! Hope to "talk" with you soon!

    Peggy

Hi, Peggy! We're so glad you're here! My middle child is in first grade this year, & I'd like to say thank you for what you do...those kids are so blessed to have a teacher that cares and prays for them. They're at such a vulnerable stage at this age...getting that foundation for their entire school experience, so what you do is just enormously important!
I look forward to getting to know you better and to reading your blog...please make yourself at home here!

Welcome, Peggy! I have taught K-4, K-5, and 1st grade. Of all of them, K-5 was my favorite, but I admit I dreaded the graduation ceremony at the end of each year. I am currently working as a writer and speaker, and even though I never imagined it would be possible, I enjoy it far more than teaching.

It's good to have you here, and I hope to see you around.
