Hi there,
I am new to trucking. Iím passionate in truck driving and have plans to go for a 10 days orientation program. I had a big fight with my dad to get into the orientation program. My parents were not willing to leave me for this program. I got their permission but still, they are not okay. I was excited and thrilled about the driving. But I read an article by Anna Merlan (deadspin-quote-carrot-aligned-w-bgr-2) about how unsafe the truck driving school for the woman. I donít know whether it is true or made up story. I am worried and confused. I am not sure whether to go behind my dreams or drop it. Sad to see such articles. I felt like all my efforts were in vain. Fights with my dad and mom, my prayer... everything went useless. I am afraid and worried to enroll for the training program. I am not sure what to do now. I would like to get your advice on this.
I have seen many safety precautions that are taken by the truck drivers like installing GPS and other lone worker safety app but though Iím not feeling confident. Should I drop my plan? I have no clue how to proceed.
