  1. When You Need Someone "Just In Case"

    by , 02-05-2015 at 03:30 AM
Early morning sunrise streams in from behind cracked curtains and I see him.

I see him walk out in the snow to the shed, his jacket too thin for the bitter cold, his worn boots unlaced where underneath his heels broke free, and his socks were worn holey.

    He hadn't eaten breakfast.

    He didn't make his lunch.

I knew better than to ask if he had brushed his teeth because I already knew the answer. After ten years you know the answer.
  2. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Then he said something that grabbed my attention. He asked my ...

  5. Counting on His Faithfulness

by , 04-18-2011 at 07:38 PM (Confessions of a HOT MESS!)
A book is usually chunked across the room when Christian, 2 years old, doesn’t want to read a certain book. He’ll take a look at it and then yell, “NO!” and the book, no fault of its own goes flying through the air landing with a hard crash. Give Christian a book he wants to read and he’ll take his time with it and carefully look at every page but books beware if Christian is in no mood to read you!

Christian (name changed to protect privacy) is one of the foster children that I ...
