As we embark upon the close of 2011, I am reminded of a very familiar scripture written by The Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7. The scripture states, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Paul referenced this particular scripture during his second imprisonment in Rome. Paul knew that his days on this earth were coming to an end, but even until the very end The Apostle Paul remained faithful to God and to the work of the ministry for Christ's sake.
If you are living and breathing, you have experienced some good and challenging days in 2011. But, I encourage you to take Paul's scripture and hold it close to your heart. No matter what the coming days may bring continue to persevere, endure, and remain faithful to the very end of this year and in the years to come. You may be going through financial difficulties, trying to cope with the lost of a loved one or close friend, sickness may have ravished your body, you may be unemployed, but continue to press forward and finish strong. In this life, we will be faced with challenges and difficulties, but the mark of an overcomer is based upon how you finish the course.
Just imagine a runner at the start of race. The runner is preparing for the race mentally and physically. During the course of the race, just like in our lives, we will experience pain, tiredness, weariness, and thoughts of wanting to quit or give up because we cannot see the finish line. But today, be encouraged to know that the finish line is near. The Apostle Paul is one of the greatest examples of endurance and faithfulness to God. Do not let distractions or what you physically see or hear veer you off course. Yes, we will be persecuted. Yes, you will experience adversity. Yes, the enemy will try to attack your mind and your body, but stand firm on the Word of God. Even though weapons may form, they will not prosper.
God has destined your life for GREATNESS! Continue to walk in God's light and God's path and you will reap the rewards that are stored up for the righteous. We are born into a the blood line of royal priest hood. God's greatness runs in our blood veins. Be proud and confident in knowing that God instilled greatness in you. So, don't let another day go by - Be Confident, Stand Bold in your Greatness and the Greatness of God then, you will see Glory of the Lord in your life.
