Just a quickie blog. If you have the time click on my picture to see more clearly my full blooming Japonica bush. I took the picture this AM Jan. 12, 2012 and it is raining, snow is due today and deep freeze is expected tonight, the coldest of the winter; it may get into the 20's so I am sure my brave bloomer is in for a shock! The last two years it has had a few blossoms in Oct. and Nov. but this is an outstanding show stopper for my part of the world.

I live in western Kentucky on the Ohio River and normally we have long dreary cold winters. I have decided that this winter has been God's special blessing for me; I spend cold weather yearning for spring. We have in rare years had warming spells, but this winter, in spite of a few heavy frosts, has been more like late fall or early spring. In past Januaries, we have had tornadoes, ice-storms, blizzards, earthquakes and wind-storms, this January we are having a lot of sunny blue skies and I am taking it personally, and lovin' it!

As I said earlier snow and very cold temps are due this evening, I have decided to be gracious and accept whatever God sends my way, I have my pile of afghans ready, books on standby, and a new jar of dry-roasted peanuts, so I am good...relatively speaking that is!
