All scripute quoted will be from the King James Version.

Psalm 1
1.Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful .
2.But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3.And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither ; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper .
4.The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away .
5.Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6.For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish .

As I was meditating on this today I really focused on verse 3 which talks about "a tree planted by the rivers of water". If you look at trees right along a river bank you will see they are usually the healthiest trees around. Why is that? That is because they
are need a constant source of nourishment. Jeremiah 17:8 is similar to Psalm 1:3..it states
"For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh , but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." If we have our roots firmly planted in the soil of Jesus Christ and God's Word then we will be able to stand and even flourish during the rainy seasons or drought seasons of our lives. It is only through those storms that the trees roots are made stronger to keep the tree in the ground.

So how can we cultivate a greater hunger for and delight in God's Word?
How can we make His Word a greater part of our lives?

I will leave those thoughts for you to ponder on today. Feast on God's Word today and be full :-)

Until next time~
Robin
