I may appear one person to you;

The truth is that I am actually two.

Beyond the old man, beyond the new;

Another duality, hidden from view.

In youth, the clowning mask I wore;

It covered all the pain I bore.

Alone, I saw the real me;

Stripped bare of her felicity.

It began on an ordinary day in 1989. A fleeting thought, like an arrow, shot its way into my consciousness.
