What a beautiful picture you have painted here Rhea and it has caused my heart to praise. I especially love, in this dry and difficult season I am in, the picture of "trust overwhelming my fear". Praise God for that! Praise God for the work he is doing in all of our hearts. And praise God for His love gently raining down on us.

Beautiful, powerful words Rhea. Thank you.

Thanks Brenda! I too love that the Bible does not sugarcoats its instruction and at times just gives us some good old plain-in-your-face truth. But there is a truth that balances this off. We as daughters of the King are loved, cherished and are precious to God regardless of how in our flesh we behave sometimes. I am a fiery, passionate, in the making "gentle spirit", and I am so thankful that I am precious in the eyes of my Father just how I am now. Our God is good! He is Love! and I so adore Him! <3

Good morning Rena and welcome to CWO. You will find our Blog Guidelines here: http://christianwomenonline.net/comm...uidelines.html.

Thank you for sharing your series on conflict with us. We all have conflict in our lives, and I have a feeling that what Jesus has to say about it is going to more than nudge a few of us to stop avoiding it. I agree totally that grace in conflict transforms us, but grace in any situation transforms everyone and the situation including conflict. Grace poured out on even the bitterest of conflicts can defuse the situation and touch the people's hearts with the love of God.

Looking forward to getting to know your through your writing...

    Blessings as you write,
    Nicole

Love your special observation on "mothering!"

Prov31, a Proverbs 31 woman is a Godly woman. It's not about how or where of if she is a "business-woman". She cares for her family with love and Grace, she opens her heart to the Word and God's teachings. She nurtures her children with love and kindness if she is blesssed with them. She respects, honors and supports her husband if indeed she has entered into a marriage. She helps build a household full of love, joy, peace, forgiveness and rightousness to the best of her abilities. She does these things in humility and Grace because it is who she really is at heart. These are the qualities of a Proverbs 31 woman. We are all in various stages in our walk with God, no one is expected to do all these things; faith, hope and prayer is our key to move along the paths God has given us to walk in this life.

Caro, there are no words to describe this kind of pain. Many will want to know why, often those answers never come. The teens who knew this young lady will look to their church for comfort. As you described your son and his heart, they will find the comfort they need and God will heal their hurts. Tragic events like these often bring people closer together. Know you are all in our prayers. May God bless and keep you and bring you peace in this time of grief and may your life minister to the young ones and help them grow in faith as they cope with what has happened.

Wow, what beautiful memories you have Rhea. Many of us dream of our mothers for different reasons. My mother died at the ripe old age of 19, just three months after I was born. I have only one picture. Everyone who has spoken of her has described her as an absolute Angel. I hope that some day I will actually get to meet her and say I love you too. I too raised a willful daughter, I named her Angel. She has a daughter now too, but little Reagan is as sweet as can be. I'm sure God is smiling at the irony of that. Happy Mothers day.

Every time I read this story I hope for a different ending, but it never changes, many of the decisions we make last for more than just our lifetime, and that can be so sad. Thanks for a in-depth look at Hagar's situation and the reminder of its on-going outcome.

You have done the very best thing you could do for the friends and family by offering their need (all their needs) to a holy, understanding, holy God. I am Praying they will find their way to His waiting, open arms.

Oh Caro - thanks for sharing so we can be praying, too! It's not possible to read this and not share in the pain and grief and calling out to the Lord, even in our much smaller measures, of course. Please know that there are many more who've read this and are praying, too, but cannot say so here. Prayers and hugs for you all!

Thanks, Heather! I so appreciate having this new window and your insights on Hagar! I realize I rather skimmed past her story, if favor of following the story of the children of the promise. What a treat to have a powerful new lesson on an old story!
